10/25/2019

CHARLESTON, WV – The Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs (HHOMA) hosted the 6th Annual Minority Business Expo at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019. The event was sponsored by Marshall University, West Virginia American Water, the West Virginia Community and Technical College System, the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance, West Virginia State University, and West Virginia University.

More than 300 people attended the expo and learned about strategies for creating or improving a business.

“We are so excited with the content that the presenters provided to all of our attendees,” HHOMA Executive Director Jill Upson said. “We are hoping for increased economic activity from West Virginia’s minority population. The information given at this expo will help these underrepresented populations get the valuable resources they need to start a new business or expand their existing business.”

The Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs, which operates within the Office of Governor Jim Justice, is committed to assisting all underserved citizens across West Virginia and developing innovative ways to address issues affecting minority populations through conversation, education, leadership, and collaboration.
